A garage or shed creates a different set of questions, not an automatic answer to indoor resin handling. Cold conditions, stored fuel, heaters, shared access and a longer route to washing facilities all belong in the plan.

Keep three requirements separate

Requirement Where to find it
Resin processing temperature Current instructions for the exact product
Resin storage conditions Label and SDS storage section
Solvent use and storage Solvent supplier's SDS and equipment manual

Use the maker's manual and SDS library to check your product. A resin's processing-temperature recommendation is not permission to heat a room or washing container in any convenient way. Checked 25 October 2026.

Review the outbuilding as a whole

List everything stored nearby: fuels, gardening products, batteries, food, pet supplies and ignition sources. Plan how containers remain labelled and inaccessible to children. Check whether the intended ventilation arrangement still works when windows or doors would normally be shut in winter.

IPA remains highly flammable according to UKHSA. Follow its supplier's SDS rather than improvising with heaters or warming open liquids. HSE's workplace storage guidance provides context for separating storage and controlling quantities; it is not a domestic shed certification. Checked 25 October 2026.

Make a decision before a cold-weather print

Use the workspace checklist and record unresolved storage or ventilation questions. If the product requirements cannot be met, pause use until they can. This guide covers the post-processing workspace; it does not prescribe printer exposure or slicer settings.
